Sketching on Fidalgo island

I spent a few days on Fidalgo Island, and I made this sketch of Sally’s backyard. My main focus was mixing juicy and strong greens, after adding back the strong, staining phthalo pigments to my watercolor palette (blue and green). I also enjoyed using a 1/2″ flat brush instead of a round.

[What I used: Handmade accordion sketchbook with Fabriano Artistico Hot Press 140 lb  watercolor paper,  pencil, Daniel Smith watercolors, Princeton 4050 1/2? Flat Wash brush]
