Morning banana (after breakfast)

One reason I’m using a small portrait sketchbook these days (other than my desire to use the art supplies I already have) is to practice using an entire two-page spread.

The gutter feels like a barrier, a boundary that stops the flow of the page and keeps me confined to one side. But in a very small space it’s easier to cross the line and see the entire spread as a single surface to fill and organize.
